Sunday Morning Update

| It's fair to say that citizens now know what Boys State is all about. This morning, the process of developing the government for the 51st state began. City caucuses were held this morning to determine the candidates for the Nationalist and Federalist parties in the city election. The campaigning has begun, as you see in the pictures. In addition, yearbook pictures were taken for each city. Every Boys State citizen will automatically receive a yearbook in the mail sometime in October. The staff of EIU produces a wonderful memoir for our citizens. New this year is the opportunity for citizens to purchase an 8 x 10 color photo of their city for $5. Citizens are ordering now, and pictures will be delivered before they leave on Friday. |
So far, this camp has been very uplifting. We are only on our second day here at Charleston but I am already looking to getting further into the week. We went through the introductory lessons yesterday and I feel today is when the program will begin to effect me the most. I am looking forward to running for Mayor and to become more involved into this program. |
