Sunday Evening Update
This afternoon was full of activity at Boys state as well. The band rehearsed, and the intramural sports program is began. Tryouts in five team sports took place: basketball, football, soccer, softball, and volleyball. Competition between counties begins tomorrow. In the meantime, some have been preparing their essay and/or oration for the scholarship competition later this week. City Elections take place at 5:00 PM. Results of the city elections will be posted on the website when they are available.

Even though the time I've spent at Boys State so far has been brief, the experiences and information gained in this short amount of time is beyond belief. I first started off this week by giving the prayer invocation at the general assembly. That was great. Boys State is a chance to try something new and take advantage of new opportunities. This has been the best experience of my high school career and I will remember it for the rest of my life...because I will be a Boys State citizen for the rest of my life.
