Thursday Morning Update

The last full day of Boys State, and it's more full than any previous day. This morning, competitors in the Essay contest finalize their work and submit the final draft. Round 3 of the seminar series is followed by the polls opening for the State General Election. City and County governments finalize their legislation before transitioning to shut-down mode. The House and Senate finalize their legislation ready to present bills to the Governor upon election. And that's just this morning. Results from the State General election should be posted around 3:00 pm, barring any issues which may occur within the Election Commission.

Simply put, it is a lot of work for a hundred times the amount of joy. This IS entertainment, learning, experience, and knowledge at its best. There is no other question. This week has been near the best moment of my life. Not my best, but very close. There are no words that can accurately describe the effort that has gone into every day and the sleep lost; however, the moments of rest and the joys with newfound friends creates an absolutely wonderful and indescribable feeling.
