Tuesday Morning Update
Hard to believe we’re already near the half-way point of Boys State.  Time is moving so fast.  Today is just as active as any day of Boys State.  The stakes are getting higher, as we progress to the state election.  Nominating petitions are available for the party primary convention this morning.  The State Central Committee meets to determine the rules and procedures for tonight party convention.  The Senate and House meet to consider Resolution Number 1, and the Supreme Court has its initial meeting.  The Supreme Court is called upon if asked to adjudicate Boys State Constitutional issues.  The Seminar series begins this morning, as citizens will attend four seminars about the judicial, executive, electoral, and legislative process.  All of this is just the Tuesday morning of Boys State.

My name is Jesse Caverly and I am from a small town in central Illinois. I found out about Boys State when my school had flyers they were handing out. My American History teacher said he went and it was fun, so I was thinking about going. Also my sister went to Illini Girls State, so I thought I would go to Illinois Boys State. Now that I have been here for a little while, I have made a lot of friends. My roommate is really cool, and the counselors are also nice. So far, this has been a great time!
