I was asked to attend Boys State by my counselor, and sponsored by my areas American Legion organization. When I first heard about Boys State, it seemed like an interesting thing to do, so I was excited and eager to come. But I was coming by myself, and not knowing anyone in a new place that you have never been at before is a scary position to find yourself in. But after just one day, I could tell that this was the place to be. I love that I am surrounded by other people who share the same goals and ambitions, and do the same type of things in their communities that I do in mine. I have made lots of friends, and had many deep, thought provoking conversations deep thought provoking people. I would definalty recommend this camp to anyone, because it is a great opportunity. And even though it is more politics based, it is a great camp to make new friends, find yourself and test your abilities against other future leaders.
