WELCOME TO BOYS STATE LIVE 2009

Tuesday Afternoon Update
As with any camp, it takes a few days to 'get into the groove'. It's fair to say the 2009 Boys Staters have found their groove. City governments are in operation, county governments are in operation, and there is heavy campaigning taking place for state primary elections which will be held tomorrow. Lots of morning meetings (Senate, House, State Central Committee, House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court). Others are working on their orations (preliminary round is tomorrow afternoon).

So far my experience of Boys State has been a good one.  I came down here not knowing what I was getting myself into. After I found out what the purpose of Boys State really was, I put my all into the program and I have accomplished a lot over the past few days. I have been elected Mayor of my city, and so far I am running my city with excellence.  This program really brings out the best of your ability to lead and accomplish new goals.  I would highly recommend this program for anyone interested in speeches and government.  Anything is possible when you set your mind to it.  Boys State really is a great program and you can learn a lot from it.
