| Below are more images from Saturday, including the first General Assembly. The City ballots have been filled with candidates. All Boys State meetings are run using Parliamentary Procedures. This morning, citizens are being trained in Parliamentary Procedures, while another group of citizens is being trained in election procedures. All Boys State elections are run, compiled, and tabulated by the Election Officials....who are all citizens of Boys State. Meanwhile, the campaigning for city elections continues... |
My experience at Boy’s State was absolutely incredible. I was originally apprehensive, but the friendliness of the staff and my fellow citizens immediately made me feel at home. I learned about our government in a way I never could have experienced in the classroom, and made friendships that will last a lifetime. If I could, I would go back in a heartbeat. |
