Tuesday Morning Update |
| Never a dull moment at Boys State. This morning we begin moving to the state level of elections. Nominating petitions are available for those who wish to run for state office. City Councils, County Board of Supervisors, the State Central Committee, the Senate, the House, and the Supreme Court all meet this morning. Finally, the seminar series begin. Each day portions of the state attend seminars on the Legislative, Electoral, Executive, and Judicial processes. |
Boys state I feel has already been my home away from home; I’ve met and been introduced to strangers who now feel like my brothers. It is a very accepting environment and I feel as if I’ve found my niche here. I’ve enjoyed my stay here while using my hobby of graphic design to help advance myself and my new friends higher into sought after positions. Here at premier boy’s state, I’ve learned that doubt is nothing but a word, nothing but another wall to becoming the 75th Illinois Boy’s State Speaker of the House. I believe that you must have knowledge of the shoes you’d wish to fill; an objective when you walk in, and an accomplishment once your foot hits the steps back into your bus. |
