Before coming to Boys State, I had no idea how politics worked in the real world. All I new was that there were these people separated into two parties and two of the people were battling for the pirze. My experience at Boys State has really taught me that it's more complicated than the simple plan of 'shaking hands and kissing babies.' Instead, it is posters, meeting people, hearing people's problems, and, sadly enough, dirty politics. These past days have been amazing, not only on the educaitonal aspect, but also on the leadership side. I suggest that if anyone ever wanted to run for office in their home town, county, state, or country, Boys State is the best practice you can receive.
