The Alumni Association was founded on June 14, 2002 with the central purpose of keeping alumni connected and informed, as well as promoting and recruiting for the American Legion Department of Illinois' Premier Boys State program. Our association is in its formative stages, but we feel strongly that something must be done to help with recruitment as well as keep alumni informed and connected. If you attended Premier Boys State or know someone who did, please let us know!
Why Should I Join?
By becoming a member of the alumni association you can help! Some of the best advertising the Premier Boys State program could hope for is from proud and thankful participants. By staying connected and informed this will only help the flow of information and advertisement. Also, the Association is building a fund in order to award a scholarship to a qualified citizen each year at Premier Boys State.
What Types of Memberships Are Available?
There are two memberships from which to choose. Citizen Membership is available to anyone who attended and graduated from Premier Boys State. Associate Membership is open to anyone who has served on staff of Premier Boys State OR to any member of the Legion Family (American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion).
How Much Will This Cost?
In all cases, a minimum donation of only $10.00 is required.
How Do I Join?
If you will be attending Premier Boys State as a participant or staff member, it is recommended that you sign up while in attendance during the week of Premier Boys State. To do this, print the Registration Card, complete it, and bring it with you along with your cash, check or money order in the amount of $10, made payable to, "Premier Boys State Alumni Association". Participants are encouraged to come prepared like this so they will not forget to sign up during the week, as it will be very busy. Registrations can be turned into Citizen Services (the Bank) anytime during their operating hours (meal times). Citizen Services is located in the Dining Room.
If you will not be attending Premier Boys State, you may print and complete your Registration Card and mail with your check or money order (do not send cash in the mail) at any time to the address on the application.
What To Expect!
With your completed membership application and donation you will receive a wallet-sized Membership Card. Also, a roster will be maintained and periodic newsletters will be sent to Alumni Association Members to keep them informed of the activities of the Association, its members, and the Premier Boys State program. As we continue to grow, other incentives and perks will be added.
We will be building an on-line group on the Internet. Please be sure to provide a working e-mail address, as this will be the primary form of communication for the on-line group.
