Coming here was really strange at first. I had no idea what to expect. The only thing I knew was that it was a political like environment, and they had a militia you could join. To anyone who is considering coming here I say this: GO!!! It is one of those life experiences you would regret passing up, and this will affect your future positively if you choose to go. I would recommend this experience to everyone.

Public Affairs Competition

The Public Affairs Competition is an exercise for Boys State citizens. It by no means represents the stance or opinion of ALPBS, the State of Illinois, or the citizens of this year's Boys State session.

Both the ALPBS General Assembly and each of the County Public Affairs Teams will consider and act on the language in the document. For all purposes, the Resolution will be considered to have been introduced in both Houses of the ALPBS General Assembly and must be acted on (in some form or fashion) by both Houses. Each Public Affairs Teams will prepare a lobbying presentation using this material (as a point of departure) to prepare a persuasive presentation for the ALPBS General Assembly.
